Shri.Bavaguthu Raghuram Shetty popularly known as Shri. B.R.Shetty is the leading Indian Entreprenuer in United Arab Emirates. His managerial skill , dynamism, professional experience, social, cultural and sports activities have not only brought him fame and name but, made him the popular and eminent person in the country of his residence.

Born on 1st Aug.1942 to Late Ambalpady Shambhu Shetty and Kaup Bavaguthu the Late Krishni Kusuma Shetty. He had his early education in Kaup and then at M.G.M. College-Udupi. He underwent a Professional Course in Pharmacy at Kasturba Medical College-Manipal.

He stared a Pharmaceutical Business at Udupi for a short period after his studies and his ambition to join politics and follow footsteps of his renowned father who had served for about 20 tears as Municipal Councilor from Ambalpady Constituency in Udupi. He contested and won twice from his father's constituency of Ambalpady and elected as Vice President of Udupi Municipality on both occassions. It was during his venture as Vice President an all-round development of pilgrimage town of Udupi had taken place.

His urge enterprise took him to Abu-Dhabi in 1972 where he took up a job in a Pharmaceutical Company and very soon he rose upto the position of General Manager. The spirit of adventure and his love for an independent Business of his own , soon he started his own medical centre known as New Medical Centre. His professional eminence soon enabled him to upgrade it into a well established, modern medical centre providing upto date diagnostic facilities with entire range of expert medical and surgical specialties under one roof. He also created financial institutions and other establishments wherein he has been able to offer employment to more than 500 persons. He is the chairman of an Indian School, catering to the education of children of Indian community. He takes active part in social, cultural and sports activities and is the Vice-President of the cricket association of Abhu-Dhabi and sponsors several tournaments. He takes keen interest in the Indian Social Centre and Bunts Association of U.A.E. Mr. Shetty is the patron of Karnataka Sangha, which is endeavoring to maintain the Kannada Culture in U.A.E.

Mr. B.R.Shetty is married to Dr.Chandra Kumari, who is actively sharing the responsibility of management and administration of the New Medical Centre. They are blessed with three daughters Neema, Reema and Seema and a son Binay.

In spite of his heavy schedule, he is very sociable, generous and spares his time to all those who seek his help. It has been his motto to help all those who need his succors.
