Responsibilities Of Communities:-

In Tulunaadu, every community has its own responsibilities to perform during Bhootha worship of that area. The leader in that area with social respect and who keeps every one together is known as Gurikara. The Gurikara settles disputes within their community and society, and if the disputes are not settled by him, then such cases are brought to the presence of Bhootha during festival, and the disputes are settled there . So, Bhoothas means ‘satya’ which became the social communication media, judging the society, helping them to maintain communal harmony. We can see influence of Bhootha in other religions such as Jainism, Brahmins , They accepted Bhootha worship and built Bhootha shrines. Besides that some of Bhoothas spirits are elevated to the status of Gods.

Gadi Paththuni (Bhootada Gadi):-

Every house of bunts worshipped the Bhoothas .During the events of worshipping every member of the family are present . Also, for some of the events in the Bhootha shrines in the village, bunts have important role to play ,the bunt houses like, Beedu, Guthu, Paraari Baalike etc.

The eldest male member of the family goes to Bhootha shrines of the village where he is honoured according to his social status of their house. To get this official honour, he should perform a ritual called "Gadi Paththuni" in the presence of bhootha.

During bhootha kola, the eldest male member of the family will be called by name by the Darshan Paathri,in the presence of villagers and prasadam will be given. This ritual is known as Gadi Paththuni. This ritual is performed only once in one generation. Two persons of the family cannot perform this ritual at one time.

So, in every festival the bhootha calls eldest male member of family after Brahmins and Guests to give Prasadam before general public ,only after the death of first member of that family, second member performs the ritual and represents the family. The ‘Gadi’ritual should observe some strict dieting, during festival days. He should not intake any food in the morning without having bath, no lady during this period should not enter in inner section of house, he should never touch dead body including his parents, he should not wear a shirt in the Bhootha shrines.

In case if the eldest member of the family dies, next day to the death, holeya and his team beating the drums, along with flute music praising the dead person and expressing the condolence for a period of 11 days .On 14th day the vaikunta samaradhane (the last ritual after the death) takes place .
