Bunts Sangha’s school is located in the heart of Vijayanagar, Bangalore

    This is a school with a difference, free from pollution, bright and calm atmosphere, comfortable accommodation, a centre for excellence in academics, fine arts and computers.

    Sri Ramakrishna Vidyaniketan is sponsored by the Bunts Sangha Banglore, a charitable institution, in July 1991, in the name of Mrs. Ammanni Ramanna shetty trust, whose motto is "Service to community" for providing education to all students irrespective of caste, color and creed to develop their inner faculties in order to mould them into true citizens of the country.

    The strength of the school rose from 2 in 1991 to 250 in 2000 The school is co-educational and the medium of instruction is English and Kannada. The ‘Teaching and Learning’ process is carried out under the able guidance of well qualified and experienced teachers. The school aims to produce citizens with a keen sense of responsibility, integrity, self-reliance and loyalty.

The fee structure is as follows: (per annum)

       Montessori   -  U.K.G      -   Rs 1970/-

Std I       -  Std IV     -   Rs 2330/-

Std V       -  Std VIII   -   Rs 2670/-
 

    The school does not accept donation. The management gives scholarships to economically backward but meritorious students.

    Every year the school holds competitions in the field of academics and fine arts. It celebrates sports day and annual day. The students are also taken on educational trips.

    The first batch of students of Std VII wrote the District Level Examination in March 2000 and came out with flying colours (100% first class and 30 distinction).

    The management dreams of soaring to the height of success by imparting knowledge to large number of children because "Students of today are builders of competitive and competent India".

     Scholarships           

    The Sangha has introduced a scheme of sanctioning scholarships to the deserving students studying in various schools and colleges of the State irrespective of caste and creed.

    Scholarships of minimum 8 lakh rupees are spent annually to needy students of the state irrespective of caste.

    Bunts Sangha Bangalore has instituted cash Award of Rs.5,000/- each for students who secure ranks within 20th in PUC Examinations in the State.

Adult Education:                                                                                                                                   Top

   As a measure of our commitment to the cause of education and to wipeout illiteracy, the Ladies Wing of the Sangha conducts 'Adult Education Class' to women, perhaps the first of its kind. So far about 100 women have been trained and the torch of learning is being spread. We are pursuing this scheme vigorously with the sole intention of educating more and more women. This programme is being conducted at the Manjunath Nagar Slum during evenings, regularly, Nowadays menfolk are also coming forward to attend the classes

Religious activities:

Chinmaya mission conducts geetha gnana yagna for a period of 7 days every year during the month of July. Ramakrishna mission also conducts one day religious programme in the 1st week of July every year.

    The Auditorium is being given to certain spiritual and social activities free of charge for about a month every year. Such social activities include Geetha Gyana Yagna in association with Chinmaya Mission and 'Bhakthi Sanje' programme with Sri Ramakrishna Mission.

Health&Medical                                                                                                                                     TOP 

The Sangha is actively undertaking Health and Medical activities like Blood donation Camp, Free Medical and Dental Check-up for students, immunization for Hepatitis-B and 'Free Eye Operation' camps. Eye operation camps are being organized every year in association with Globe Eye Foundation in and around Bangalore. This indeed has become very popular and nearly 50 rural people under went eye operation at this camp held at Hoskote

Doctors Cell:

 Various camps such as Eye camp, Blood donation camp, Medical aids, Seminars, Free medical check up camps are conducted by eminent doctors. Nearly 250 doctors are enrolled in doctors cell.

So far 10 major camps are already held in and around Bangalore. The aim of this cell is mainly to help the poor with medicine and checkup. Present president of the cell is Dr. Jayaram Rai M.

AMBULANCE VAN SERVICE:

    Ambulance service is provided to all i.e. to the public and to the members. This van was donated by Rotary Club Bangalore.

Sports ACTIVITIES:                                                                                                              TOP 

  Bunts Sangha Bangalore has instituted awards for outstanding sports persons in order to encourage talented youngsters who make a mark either in National or International Sports events.

Competitions conducted by the sports wing are as follows.

1. Shuttle Badminton (Different age groups)

2. Athletics

3. Cricket - This tourney attracts roughly 15 to 20 teams.

4. Ladies Throw ball/Tennicoit

5. Carrom and Chess

Sneha Chintana

   This is a quarterly published magazine, gives information about the activities of the sangha, and it attracts very good articles from leading Bunt writers. Snehachinthana is presently edited by Smt.Usha P. Rai a leading Kannada writer and Ex.Manager of Vijaya Bank.

Ladies Wing:                                                                                                                                               TOP

This was started to serve women in general, keeping in mind their problems: a) Working Women: - The hostel has come up in the premises to fulfill the aspirations and ambitions of working women. Presently 45 ladies from different communities are enjoying the hostel facility. The new building is expected with in a short period of time. The location and proposal for the same are ready.

b) The Ladies’ Wing conducts competitions like cooking, flower arrangement and painting to provide an opportunity for the members to display their creativity.

c) Every month Bhajans are organized by ladies wing.

d) Ladies’ wing also helps needy brides by donating ‘Mangalsutra and sarees’.

e) It conducts the Bisu and Deepavali festivals in a beautiful manner at the premises.

f) Yoga and other sports are also conducted by the ladies’ wing and women are actively encouraged to participate in them.

g) Tours and an annual picnic is also organised.

h) Celebrity nights are arranged to raise funds.

i) Plans on to conduct an ‘All India Ladies meet/festival’ during this year.

j) Active involvement in all functions of Bunts’ Sangha, is a regular feature.

List of proposed programmes and the approximate budget for each programme for the year 2000-2001.

1. Sports for hostel inmates- Arranged sports for hostelites on Sunday the 19th March 2000 at 10am at hostel premises- for this no budget is required.

2. Hostel day celebration - Arranged a hostel day celebration on Sunday the 26th March 2000 at 7.30pm at hostel premises followed by dinner for hostel inmates, Ladies wing office bearers and committee members with their husbands and Bunt Sangha office bearers and committee members with their respective spouses - Budget Rs 12000/-

3. Cooking competition for lady members - Arranged a cooking competition on Wednesday the 5th April 2000 at 2.00pm at Bunt Sangha premises. Budget- Rs 10,000/- excluding printing and postage of circulars.

4. Monthly meetings of office bearers and committee members for 6 months- Budget Rs 2500/-

5. Bimonthly programmes for ladies- Arranging various programmes for ladies once in two months. Budget Rs 12,000/- excluding posting of cards.

6. Mangalsutra and wedding ring for poor brides - Donating mangalsutra and wedding ring for poor worthy Bunt brides Budget Rs 60,000/-

7. Education- Adopting suitable worthy children to provide them books and uniforms upto high school education. Budget Rs 10,000/-

8. Adult education programme- the existing adult education programme is running successfully and providing better facilities. Budget Rs -------.

9. All India ladies wing joint meet- Budget has to be worked out.

  Youth Wing:                                                                                                                                              TOP

     This Wing was started around 10 years back under the able leadership of the then president (Bunts’ Sangha) Srinivas Alva, with Preeth Hegde as the first president of youth wing.

    The Wing’s activities include Social service, Volunteer Service, Medical camps, Blood donation camps, Distribution of books, slates and school bags to the poor students, Cultural, sports activities and summer camps.

    The Youth Wing, with a view to mould the youngsters in the impressionable years and prepare them to be worthy future citizens, organizes youth camps, social service camps and utilizes their spare time in constructive activity. 'Shramadana' activities are also arranged to instil the dignity of labour in the youngsters. The Youth Wing was instrumental in collecting almost one lakh of Rupees towards the Kargil Fund which was presented in a formal manner to The chief, Southern Command.

GENERAL ACTIVITIES:

All these programme are not limited to the members of the Sangha alone. Our activities are aimed at the people at large. We are rendering service in our own humble way without discrimination and trying to complement the government’s effort of uplifting the living standards of the people of our society.

    Proposed 4 to 5 crore rupees project to be completed in a phased manner, which is inclusive of school building, administrative block and working women’s hostel.

    The School building is surrounded with a beautiful playground and a large parking place. The estimated cost of constructing the auditorium was Rs. 67 lakhs in 1995. 30 lakhs of this amount was collected through the generous patronage of trustees and members.

Bunts’ Sangha Bangalore has 4 regular annual programmes:

1. Founder’s day Jan '26(cultural and sports day)

2. Bisu celebration.

3. Deepavali.

4. Annual general body festival.
