Mr. Rama Nagappa Shetty popularly known as "R.N. Shetty" was born on Aug 15,1928 to Mr. Nagappa Subbayya Shetty and Mrs.Eramma Nagappa Shetty belonging to Murdeshwar village.A philanthropist of great distinction,a reputed industrialist,a prominent benefactor of Education  in the  State,a great patron of fine arts including music, drama cultural and Dharmic Institutions is the  predominant patron of institutions belonging to Bunts alias Nadava community in India. Mr. R.N. Shetty is the leading government contractor of irrigation,tunnels,roads,dams and bridges in Karnataka and Maharashtra.He started his career in Sirsi in  the  year  1952  as  small  scale  contractor  rose to   prominence in  Engineering  works  and   started construction   of  major works in the name of  under the name "R.N. Shetty & Company". He has successfully completed three major bridges Honnavar, Gerusoppa road and Kharland works. Then he undertook irrigation works like Ghataprabha, Malaprabha and Upper Krishna Project. In 1974-75 onwards including irrigation canals and dams, building,underground power-houses etc. winning laurels and appreciation from various Government Departments and Customers for finishing the work in  record time. Mr. R.N.Shetty is one of the leading Industrialist in Karnataka. The industries like Mangalore Roofing Tiles at Murudeshwar, Naveen Mechanised Construction Pvt.Ltd., Naveen Hotel Ltd at Bangalore which is handed over to Taj Group of Hotels, Murudeshwar Ceramics Ltd. at Hubli and now he started RNS Engineering College at Bhatkal etc. Mr. R.N.Shetty being a philanthropist donated generously for renovation of number of old Temples. He rebuilt one of the Gokarna Panch Mahakshetras known as "Sri Mahatobar Temple" at Murudeshwar which is attracting tourists from all over the India. He contributes a lot to Educational Institutions, poor students, he built R.N.Shetty Kalyan Mantap at Hubli. Beside this, He is the President of Hubli-Dharwad Bunts Sangha. Mr. R.N.Shetty was married to Sudha Shetty. The couple has four daughters, Mrs. Geetha Malli, Mr. Shobha J. Shetty, Mrs. Mamatha S. Hegde, Mrs. Samatha A.Shetty. We wish him all the Best.

Shri. I.M.Jayaram Shetty, son of Mr. I.Bhujanga Shetty and Mrs. Nagarathana B Shetty, was born on April 10, 1951. He is a qualified Industrialist with B.E (I&P) degree to his credit. He has specialized in Agro-Chemicals and runs three units in Bangalore under the names of Agro Chem Industries, Sri. Rathna Industries and Canara Agro Chemicals. Besides, being one of the leading Industrialist, he  is a good philanthropist and social worker. Mr.Jayaram Shetty is the Founder Executive Member of the Bunts sangha Bangalore and Trustee of the Sangha. During the period of development of Bunts Sangha built an Auditorium initially with all strains and pain as an Executive Member. Mr. Shetty helped the poor people specially in villages without considering the caste, creed and position in their difficulties. As the result he has been elected as M.L.A. in 1994. In 1998 again he elected as Member of Parliament (M. P.) from Udupi constituency. Now he is the member of standing committee of Urban & Rural Development, Consultative Committee member of Drugs, Chemicals and Fertilizers, also elected as the member of Coconut Board and also member of Users forum of Southern Railway.He was the President of Akrama Sakrama Samithi of Kundapur Taluk, President of Ashraya Samithi and Karnataka Development Programme and so on.Mr. Shetty is married to Vidya J. Shetty and has three children Nagashree, Ram Ratan and Siddarth.
