Kavi  Kayyara Kinhanna Rai , son of   Mr.Duggappa Rai  and   Mrs. Deyyakka  Rai,  was  born on June8, 1915.  This literary stalwart has qualified himself  as Vidwan in Kannada and Sanskrit and  obtained his  P.G. i n   M.A.  Eventhough he is  a poet, he has several  other literary works to his credit. He has written more  than18 books of poetry of which  Shreemukha  Ikyagana, Punarnava, Koraga, Shathamanada Gana , are the most  popular. He has  written 5  prose works, biographies onRathnarashi and Attavara Balakrishna Shetty. He has written  more  than 8 books on children literature 4 books  on Grammer and Drama. He has won more than 14 awards for his literary achievements  including Karnataka Sahithya  Academy Award ,Madras State Award for best Biography-Rathnarashi,Karnataka  State  Award -Punarnava, honored by Bunts Sangha - Mangalore,   honoured by  Jagadguru of Shringeri Mutt, and Pejawar Mutt. He  won  National   Award  for  Teachers   in   1969-70  and  presided  over  several Sahithya Sammelanas. He was President/Secretary   for  more  than   20 Literary,Educational,     Social  and  Political commities. The Lalitha Kala Sadana Of   Kasargod   honoured  him  by   publishing a book named  "Gadinadina Kidi". He has married to Unhakka daughter of Kayyara Shankara Alva and has eight children-Durgaprasad, Jayashankar,Sriranganath, Kavari, Prasanna, Krishnapradeep, Devaki  and Raviraj.

Mr. Satishchandra Hegde, Ex.President of Bunts alias Nadavara Sangha, Dakshina Kannada is the son of Late Settibettu Hiriyanna Hegde and Mrs. Ramani Heggadthi born on 25th Oct 1936.Late S. Heriyanna Hegde was well known rice and timber merchant and P.W.D Contractor which is instilled into his son and Mr. Satishchandra Hegde started his career as P.W.D. Contractor. Then he entered into Excise Contracting Business, soon made big name in DakshinaKannada,North Kanara District,Chickamagalur and Shimoga Districts.His business spread throughout the state and he was elected as the President of Karnataka Excise ContractorsAssociation.                                               

His work and munificence to our community are unparalled in our history. Within a short period of 8 years after becoming the President of Bunts Sangha of Dakshina Kannada he took up and completed the Commercial Complex in Sangha premises in Mangalore to coincide with its Platinum Jubilee. The Centenary Sabha-Bhavan in the memory of Late A.B. Shetty is another feather in his cap.Also High School and Junior College is of his creation which is benefited to our community. Another big achievement is the spacious Kalyan Mantap in Udupi in memory of Late Ammanni Ramanna Shetty.He also added big Dining Hall near the Kalyana Mantapa. He is an Industrialist owning a Tile Factory and several flourishing Small Scale Industries. He is a big Planter and owning Coffee and Tea Estates in Chickmagalur and Kodagu District.Federation of Bunts Association is his brainchild and he is the acting President of theFederatioin.  Mr. K. Satishchandra Hegde and his wife Mrs. Premalatha S. Hegde are blessed with two children ,Hiren Hegde and Ramitha. We wish him all the Success.
